Shared Lives

Shared Lives South West is a charity delivering long-term and short break care services throughout Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

They specialise in supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, mental ill health, dementia, and older people. People who use their services live or have a break in the home of one of their approved host families. A great alternative to supported living or residential care.

Their Funding and Benefits team check that people who use their services are receiving the correct benefits, and they also offer a money management service. A persons direct payment could also be used to pay for a short term service.

Their vision: “To be recognised as the leading provider of shared lives services in the country.”

Their purpose: “We support people to live meaningful lives, enabling independence through personalised, affordable care, by sharing a home and family life and by supporting involvement in the local community.”
