Support for parents and carers

With schools, members of the Inclusion and Learning Service run the very popular parent programme Autism and Us programme.  Available for parents and carers resident within the DCC (Devon County Council) footprint for primary and secondary aged children (5-16) who are either on the neurodiversity assessment waiting list or who have received a diagnosis of autism.

The programme and workshops will be delivered each term of the academic year, by members of the SEND Communication and Interaction Team at Devon County Council at NO cost to parents and carers.

The delivery is ‘live’ virtual via the Microsoft Teams platform, with schools having the option to host and screen this ‘live’ presentation into their school environment for parents and carers to attend in person and benefit from contact with other families and the school team.

Attending the ‘Autism & Us’ parent programme and associated topic based workshops gives you opportunity to develop your understanding of autism and look at practical solutions to managing and supporting your child’s presenting needs, whilst also connecting with other parents/carers.
