Devon’s OAIP frameworks
The Ordinarily Available Inclusive Education Framework sets out expectations of what high quality, inclusive practice should look like for all children and young people in all schools and settings. Underpinning the framework are 10 key principles for inclusive education and practice that align with headteacher and teacher standards and are at the heart of good teaching practice.
The Ordinarily Available Targeted Support Framework defines the enhanced adaptations, provisions and targeted interventions that may put in place to support children and young people who may have additional needs, including SEND. It is structured around the four areas of need from the SEND Code of Practice and will support schools and settings to identify and meet need as part of their graduated approach.
Devon’s Ordinarily Available Targeted Support Framework
The Targeted Support Framework is designed to support schools and settings to implement a robust graduated approach for children and young people who need support that is ‘different from or additional to’ ordinarily available inclusive education. It provides information on the four areas of need in the SEND Code of Practice, supporting staff to identify need and carefully plan how best to meet these needs, within their own resources.
