Totnes Residents Parking

Devon County Council is undertaking a statutory consultation in the Swallowfields area of Totnes to decide whether to implement residents parking restrictions along the roads of Swallowfields, Riverside and Dartside.

Why are we doing this?

Residents from Swallowfields, Riverside and Dartside have raised requests for residents parking in the area due to the popularity of the residential roads with the general public looking to access the River Dart.

This includes reports of issues caused by non-resident parking throughout the year, as well as concerns around emergency vehicle access to these roads if required. These proposals seek to provide priority parking for residents throughout the times of days which see the most visitor parking.

Why should I respond?

It is important that we know the current views of everyone who might be affected by new restrictions. Your response will contribute to the final decision.

When do I have to respond by?

The dates of the consultation ran from 28 September until 19 October 2023.

Residents within each area will be receiving information in the post with details of the consultation and how to respond.

The consultation has now closed.
