General 119: More Scam Email Attempts

Please be aware that more schools have received emails purportedly from the head teacher requesting that a CHAPs/same day payment be made. Same day/CHAPs payments requests are rare – so it’s recommended that if you receive a request, call the head teacher (or the requestor) to confirm its legitimacy. If it’s revealed to be a fraudulent request, SCOMIS have the following advice to follow:

Please do not open any attachments in the email, please delete the email. Reset your email password. Please check your security scan software is up to date before running the an anti-virus scan on your PC. If you have any issues regarding this please contact Scomis.
