Closedown Bulletin 4:- Technical Update – PE Grants
Posted on 3 April 2014 by financeschools-mailbox@devon.gov.uk
In checking the creditor and debtors returns we have noticed several schools have treated their unspent PE and Sport Grant income as ‘Income in Advance’. This is not the correct treatment.
The unspent balances will form part of your 2013-14 carry forward and you will then need to allocate this in addition to your 2014-15 allocation.
The following is the extract from the PE and Sports Grant: Conditions of Grant (Sept 2013)
9. The grant must be spent by maintained schools on improving the provision of PE and sport for the benefit of pupils registered at that school so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles.
10. Maintained schools must publish, on their website, information about their use of the PE and Sport Grant allocation by 4 April 2014. Schools should publish the amount of grant received; how it has been spent (or will be spent) and what impact the school has seen on pupils’ PE and sport participation and attainment as a result, to help to ensure that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles.

Sorry for sending twice – computer doing strange things!
Should we be sending up a reversal of these to you, or are you going to adjust them your end – I notice Finest has been adjusted on the latest trial balance.
Do we need to send up another form to cancel out the income in advance or are you going to do this? I notice it has come down on reconciliation as IIA
