Administration 93: Use of Visa Credit Cards as Amazon Payment Method
Posted on 17 November 2021 by firstname.lastname@example.org
Today we have been made aware that from the 19 January 2022, Amazon will no longer accept Visa issued credit cards. The vast majority of our procurement cards are issued by Visa and are classed as credit cards, therefore this will cause an issue in the future. We are in discussions with Barclays (our issuing bank) about how we can resolve these issues as we are aware that Amazon is used frequently by our cardholders. Once we have had discussions with the bank and we are clear on the outcome we will be in touch again to advise of any changes that need to be made.
As per the briefing from Amazon, Visa issued cards will continue to be accepted up to the 19th January 2022, so purchases before that point will be accepted provided balances are available to spend.
