Parking Permits

Residents’ parking has been in place for a number of years in some towns in Devon. The demand for parking spaces exceeds supply and permits are a way of helping manage parking in particular areas for residents. However there is no guarantee of a parking space in any zone. Schemes are in place to deal with an area problem rather than individual streets.
Residents can request a parking permit for their vehicle; a permit for an essential visitor and a book of day permits for occasional visitors. Businesses can apply for an essential vehicle permit.
From the 1st November 2011, customers will be able to apply for, and renew their permits from the comfort of their own home using our new online service. Saving residents the need to visit Devon County Council, or Exeter City Council Offices as permits will be posted.

To apply, visit Devon Permits.
For those without internet access, internet facilities are available free of charge in all Devon County Council libraries. Alternatively, people can apply by telephone by calling the MyDevon Customer Service Centre on 0345 155 1073.
You can renew your permit at any time during the expiry month. It is important that you renew on time, as if you do park in a Resident's Parking space without a valid permit you are likely to receive a Penalty Charge Notice.
