- A Space blanket
- A well-lit area
What to do
1.Lay the space blanket flat on the floor.
2.If the blanket is too large, fold it in half.
3.Place the learner on their back on top of the space blanket.
4.Encourage the learner to kick their legs and enjoy the feel and noise of the blanket.
5.Model / encourage them to reach out their arms and explore by grabbing and crunching the material.
Purpose
The reflective and crinkly nature of the blanket provides visual and auditory stimulation.
Kicking and reaching out helps in developing gross motor skills.
Encourages curiosity and exploration in a safe environment.
Adjust the activity based on the learner’s preferences and needs.
