Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Compost!

The Devon Waste Education Programme has supported schools in Devon to reduce, reuse and recycle their waste since 2004, making it one of the most successful and advanced campaigns of its kind in the country.

The Waste Education Team are a small, well connected and experienced team helping thousands of school children across Devon every year understand complex resource management issues by providing: through active and interesting workshops, trips and resources.

  • Workshops
Our Waste Educators visit schools to deliver high-quality, curriculum linked workshops and assemblies around waste, resources and sustainability.
Our workshops are mainly delivered outdoors to help engage and excite young people about environmental issues.
  • Free School Trips – Experience the sights and sounds!
The Waste Education Team provide free school trips to the energy from waste plants in Exeter and Plymouth.
  • Online Resources
Our ‘Zone’ website contains a vast reserve of teaching resources including sustainability, science of materials, how to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost at school.  With everything from 5 minute starter activities to a whole school approach, helping to tackle some of the world’s biggest issues such as plastic pollution and food waste.
