There are many tools and resources available to help you to improve the energy efficiency of your school or college, including: 

SW Net Zero Hub 

The Hub’s Public Sector Decarbonisation Skills Service provides free advice, guidance, and a technical knowledge base to deliver the heat decarbonisation of the public estate, including multi-academy trusts, schools and higher education institutions.

Exeter Community Energy (ECOE)

ECOE work with schools to install solar panels and Schools can apply to the ECOE Community Fund 

ECOE can also assist with: 

  • Energy surveys of the property from qualified retrofit coordinators, or non domestic energy assessors 
  • Help with energy tariffs and general efficiency advice from our non domestic energy assessors 
  • Workshops in schools – delivered by our community outreach team or in partnership with Seadream Education  
  • Talks to parent groups or support teams to assist low income and vulnerable households 
  • Stalls at events promoting energy efficiency across their communities

UK Schools Sustainability Network (UKSSN) Ops Group 

The UKSSN Ops Group are a network of School based operations professionals and volunteers working together to improve sustainability in schools.  Their members include School Business Leaders, Estates Managers, Operations Managers and Governors. They share best practice via regular webinars and online resources on their website.
