Please see notification from the ESFA, as follows:
This is a reminder that the deadline for submitting new data on schools with split sites (to be funded through the 2025 to 2026 schools national funding formula (NFF)), is Friday 6 September 2024.
The split sites factor was brought into the NFF from 2024 to 2025. You can read more about the departmental eligibility criteria on this factor in annex 5 of the schools operational guide 2024 to 2025:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/pre-16-schools-funding-local-authority-guidance-for-2024-to-2025
If you have previously contacted us about a school with a split site, as part of your preparations for your authority proforma tool (APT) return, then unless that specific school’s circumstances have changed, you do not need to provide this data again.
You can view the departmental held list of schools eligible for split sites funding:
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/schools-block-national-funding-formula-split-sites-funding
Our policy for 2025 to 2026 is that amalgamating schools will start receiving any additional split site funding (resulting from the amalgamation), in the third year after the amalgamation. This is to avoid double funding with the 85% of an additional lump sum amalgamating schools receive in the second year after amalgamation.
Confirmation of this approach will be included in the schools NFF technical note, which will be published alongside the 2025 to 2026 NFF allocations.
You should contact us if:
· you believe there is a new/not previously submitted split site school in your area that should be eligible for funding, but is not included on the split sites funding spreadsheet
· you believe the circumstances of a previously submitted school with split sites has now changed, such as, it now has more or fewer sites than it did for the 2024 to 2025 funding allocations, or, it has ceased to be a split site school
|
If either of the above apply, please contact us at:
fundingpolicy.queries@education.gov.uk
We will be able to confirm eligibility and calculate the distance(s) to determine the split sites funding allocated for 2025 to 2026.
