Early years: SEND and inclusion

Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision

Ordinarily Available Inclusive Provision (OAIP) describes the inclusive provision and practice that all Devon schools, early years, and post 16 settings should be able to provide for all children and young people, including those with SEND.

Ordinarily Available Targeted Support Frameworks

The Ordinarily Available Targeted Support Framework for the early years sets out the expected targeted provision which should be made available in mainstream settings for children aged 0-5 years who may have additional needs, including special educational needs.

Early Years Inclusion Consultations

Early years inclusion virtual drop-in consultations offer a solution‑focused opportunity to discuss any questions or concerns relating to an individual child’s development, or to explore aspects of SEND practice and provision within your setting.

Meetings are held on a weekly basis, usually on a Wednesday afternoon. Each appointment will last up to thirty minutes, and we ask that settings book only one slot per week. Bookings must be made within your designated locality. If additional capacity is required, more slots will be released.

All settings should seek parental permission prior to booking a slot, but there is no need to send the permission form to us; please keep for your records.
