Resonance board – Activity 6: Beat explorers

You will need

  • A resonance board
  • Wooden spoons, shakers, or drumsticks
  •  

What to do

  • Place the resonance board on the floor.
  • Have the learner sit or lie on the resonance board.
  • Use the spoons, shakers, or drumsticks to tap out rhythms on the board.
  • Take turns being the leader. The leader taps out a rhythm, and the other person copies it. You could use the phrases ‘My turn’ and ‘Your turn’ to lead this.
  • Encourage the learner to make rhythms for you to copy.
