School leader induction provides the initial support and guidance necessary to enable new leaders to make an effective start in their new role.
The detail of the induction programme for a new headteacher will be determined by many factors, including the headteacher’s previous experience, whether already working within a Devon school or moving into the county and the particular circumstances of the school.
All new headteachers are invited to a briefing session that introduces them to key County Council staff and services and provides networking opportunities with other headteachers new to post.
New headteachers will also receive a visit from the nominated school adviser, which will take place as soon as possible after appointment.
