As you will be aware Securenet is being replaced by AnyComms this month and both the School Finance Team and ScoMIS have received a number of queries regarding this. Below you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions:
-
What is SecureNet / Anycomms?
SecureNet is the secure file transfer process used by Devon County Council and a number of other local authorities. It is used to transfer files securely from schools and academies to the local authority. SecureNet end of life is 8 September 2017.
Devon County Council will be replacing SecureNet with AnyComms Plus.
Hosted Devon Schools: Will be migrated to AnyComms on Wednesday 6th September. Non hosted Devon schools: (central payment schools only) will be contacted to arrange the migration on or after 6 September. All Devon Schools should continue to use SecureNet to transfer files to County until they have migrated.
All Devon Schools should log into SecureNet to download any files posted for them before they are migrated.Further information can be provided by ScoMIS. An email has been sent to all Devon Schools (admin mailboxes) on the 4/5 September with this information.
-
Can I use AnyComms now?
Yes, all hosted schools and central payment schools have been migrated to AnyComms. Please do not log into Securenet to download any files after migration. Files for reconciliation which were not downloaded before you were migrated to Anycomms will be resent next week.

Can I use securenet after i have been migrated?

I haven’t got a licence – what is the process for getting one?
Please read the copy of the letter which was sent from DCC and outlines the process of obtaining a licence. All schools will receive credentials today and have until 11 September to buy the licence, otherwise their account will be locked.
-
Are there any guidance notes i can take a look at?
Guidance for hosted schools can be viewed and downloaded from the ScoMIS website. Guidance for non-hosted schools can also be found on the ScoMIS website.
-
Is there anything schools need to do before they are migrated?
Yes, all schools need to log into SecureNet and download any files waiting for download. In addition if they have their usernames and passwords, they can log into www.devontransfer.co.uk and re-set their password and memorable word as in the guidance, ready to use when they are migrated to Anycomms
-
I thought you used AnyComms through a webpage, why do schools need to be migrated?
In order for the DTSApps transfers to work correctly, ScoMIS has written a program which integrates the AnyComms client with DTSApps and which will replace the current SecureNet integration. In addition hosted schools will use the Anycomms client not the web page for all transfers.
