Schools are now able to access the new financial year in Access Budgeting.
Please use the School Budget Share calculator to verify the funding values in the software.The calculator can be found on the ‘Budgets’ page, via this link: Budgets – Support for schools and settings
Financial Year
You can switch between financial years via the Manage Budgets page, using the drop down menu in the top right-hand corner.
Scenarios
If you wish to bring a scenario forward from 2024/25 you have to be in the 2025/26 year and click Upgrade Scenario – where you will be presented with a drop-down list of your Scenarios available for upgrade.
Actions for Schools
- Forecast carryforward as it will be 0 in 2025/26
- Pupil Numbers – make sure that October 2025 onward reflects current numbers an forecast reception
- Review Staff costs pre-upgrade for 2025/26 in the 2024/25 budget year and compare to 2025/26 in 2025/26 the difference is what you hope the NI grant will be.
- Review pay awards assumed by Access
- Review SBS calculator approved with Oct 25 numbers to confirm funding for 2026/27
- Review grants included in the upgrade budget as CSBG Pay and Pension grants are now in SBS
