Devon County Council are implementing significant infrastructure improvements to the north-west of Newton Abbot. These include improvements to the A382 between Whitehill Cross and Drum Bridges, the construction of a new link road from Jetty Marsh to Whitehill Cross and the construction of a new link road from the A382 at Forches Cross to the A383 west of Newton Abbot. Archaeological mitigation works are being undertaken by professional archaeologists from Devon-based AC archaeology commissioned by SLR Consulting Ltd on behalf of Devon County Council Engineering Design Group.
