Prehistoric Clyst Heath

Timeline Bronze Iron

(KS2: Changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age; Iron Age Hillforts, tribal kingdoms, farming, art and culture; also late Neolithic hunter-gatherers and early farmers)

Before Clyst Heath School was built, archaeologists found a Bronze Age trackway and an Iron Age village by carefully excavating the site of the school building.

A leaflet describing what was found was produced for the school by Devon County Council and Exeter Archaeology.

Archaeologists also found exciting archaeological remains at the site of Topsham School.
