Public Health will be holding a free webinar for early years providers and holiday clubs who are active over the summer holidays. Webinars run every Thursday 4pm – 5pm.

The DfE have published a revised version of Development Matters to reflect feedback received from the Early Adopter schools that have adopted the reforms over the 2020/21 academic year. The changes to content are minor and you will not need to alter any planning based on the September 2020 version that you may have already made.

Please look out for people who are most at risk during the heatwave. We have some handy tips for staying safe in the heat.

Updates include: ‘JCVI issues advice on COVID-19 vaccination of children and young people’; ‘What parents and carers need to know about early years providers, schools and colleges during COVID-19’; ‘Actions for early years and childcare providers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak’; ‘Guidance for parents and carers of children attending out-of-school settings during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak’; ‘Protective measures for holiday or after-school clubs and other out-of-school settings for children during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak’ and ‘Use of PPE in education, childcare and children’s social care’.

Autumn dates for the Multi-Agency Safeguarding & Child Protection (Group 3 Core) training from the DCFP have become available to book from the DEL training website.

Funding streams include: Garfield Weston Foundation, Small Grants Scheme – Foyle Foundation and BlueSpark Foundation grants.

The message to parents/carers should be that if your child is unwell, please keep them at home and don’t send them to nursery or pre-school as they may make others ill. Parents might find it useful to download the free HANDI app which gives advice on common childhood conditions.

Updates include: 30 hour funding for Autumn Term 2021 and Autumn Term Forecast Payments.

Thank you for your continued support with completing the Attendance Register. The DFE have consulted on ending the collection of attendance data from Local Authorities.
