On 12 October 2021 the Government announced updated funding eligibility criteria for the reformed suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) and published new frameworks for upcoming qualifications in Leading Literacy (NPQLL) and Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL).
In response to recent queries, we have updated the contact tracing ‘frequently asked questions’. Updates have been made to several areas including advice on contacting the NHS Self Isolation Hub and where a child cannot attend their setting because they are reliant on a self-isolating adult for transport.

The HAF programme offers a wide range of support for families and goes well beyond the delivery of food and activities: it’s a point of contact for children and families during holiday periods that can be vital for them in accessing support and services. Face-to-face provision needs to remain a central element of the HAF programme at Christmas, and in the first instance we would encourage you to offer four days of face-to-face holiday/activity clubs where that is possible.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) – free training for parents, carers and professionals
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is a set of tools and strategies that an individual uses to aid communication. A group of professionals from across the whole of Devon have worked with parents and carers to create an interactive training programme that provides an introduction to AAC.
Funded by Devon County Council and run by Devon Children’s Centres, Action for Children provide small grants and support to help community based provision for families with 0-2 year olds start/restart.
