Local Waiting Restriction Programme 2021/22
The County Council regularly receives requests for waiting restrictions to be introduced or amended. These can be difficult to deliver due to resource and funding pressures. This can then have a negative impact on the County Council’s relationship with local communities.
Recognising this difficulty, a managed process has been developed to deliver an Annual Local Waiting Restriction Programme for each Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) area, for the funding and delivery of waiting restriction schemes.

East Devon – Ref 5933
The proposals for this area were advertised between 15 June and 13 July.

Please note the consultation period has now ended, and comments submitted were considered by a meeting of the East Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee on 22 July 2022. The works to implement the approved restrictions are currently being arranged.
The first part of the traffic order (ref. 5933) was sealed on 27 June 2023. There have been minor amendments to some plans.
The proposal for Dog Village, Broadclyst has been deferred, and the proposals for Road from Honiton Road to Pound Corner Clyst Honiton, Queens Court Colyton, Forches Hill and St Johns Road Exmouth, Kings Street Honiton, Fortfield Terrace Sidmouth have minor amendments – see revised plans.
Exeter – Ref 5934
The proposals for this area were advertised between 9 June and 30 June.

The traffic order (ref. 5934) was sealed on 12 July 2023. There has been minor amendments to some plans.
The proposals for Baker Street, Mill Road and Wonford Road, Exeter have been dropped.
Mid Devon – Ref 5935
The proposals for this area were advertised between 26 July and 19 August.

The proposals for Castle Street, Bampton, Hen Street, Bradninch, Cheriton Bishop and Silverdale, Silverton have been dropped.
North Devon – Ref 5936
The proposals for this area were advertised between 19 May and 13 June.

The proposal for Queen Street, Barnstaple has been deferred and the proposals for Cyprus Terrace, Barnstaple and West Street, Witheridge have been dropped.
South Hams – Ref 5937
The proposals for this area were advertised between 2 June and 27 June.

This traffic order (5937) was sealed on 24 May 2023. There have been minor amendments to some plans.
The proposals for Anzac Street, Coombe Road and Higher Street, Dartmouth, Bridgend Road, Newton Ferrers, and Paignton Road and School Hill, Stoke Gabriel have been dropped.
Teignbridge – Ref 5938
The proposals for this area were advertised between 28 April and 20 May.
