Local Waiting Restriction Programme 2020/21
The County Council regularly receives requests for waiting restrictions to be introduced or amended. These can be difficult to deliver due to resource and funding pressures. This can then have a negative impact on the County Council’s relationship with local communities.
Recognising this difficulty, a managed process has been developed to deliver an Annual Local Waiting Restriction Programme for each Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) area, for the funding and delivery of waiting restriction schemes.

East Devon – Ref 5806
The proposals for this area were advertised from 9 December 2020 until 15 January 2021.

This consultation has now closed, all comments submitted have been considered by the East Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee on 8 February 2021, and a response will be sent once a decision has been made and the works arranged.
The first part of the traffic order (ref. 5806) was sealed on 18 November 2021. The remaining sites will be sealed in due course.
Exeter – Ref 5807
The proposals for this area will be advertised from 14 January until 18 February 2021.

This consultation has now closed, all comments submitted have been considered by the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee on 15 March 2021, and a response will be sent once a decision has been made and the works arranged.
This traffic order (ref. 5807) was sealed on 1 December 2021. There have been minor amendments to some plans, and proposals for Hele Road and Pretoria Road have been dropped.
Mid Devon – Ref 5808
The proposals for this area were advertised from 1 January until 9 February 2021.

This consultation has now closed, all comments submitted have been considered at the Mid Devon Highways and Traffic Orders Committee on 9 March 2021, and a response will be sent once a decision has been made and the works arranged.
This traffic order (ref. 5808) was sealed on 20 January 2022. There has been minor amendments to Church Lane, Cheriton Bishop. Proposals for A3072, Bow, Alexandra Road and Union Road, Crediton have been dropped. Any remaining sites will be sealed in due course.
North Devon – Ref 5809
The proposals for this area were advertised from 23 December 2020 until 27 January 2021.
