Heavitree, Polsloe and Elizabeth Avenue area resident parking exhibitions

The information in this section relates to the public consultation that ran from 4 December 2015 until 8 January 2016. For information on the current proposals please see Exeter residents’ parking.

This consultation is in response to requests from local residents who are affected by commuter parking and the proposals aim to prevent displacement to other areas. These proposals have been drafted following discussions with local county councillors and the Chair of the Highway and Traffic Orders Committee.

The intention of the scheme is to ensure that residents have priority over parking within their area, while also ensuring that local needs are taken into account, for instance, that local schools, businesses and other employment hubs are not unfairly disadvantaged.

Consultation

We want you to give us feedback on these proposals to ensure that we provide a scheme that is most suitable for the area.

Note: Existing disabled parking bays and dropped kerbs are not shown on the plans. If the scheme is progressed then these will be reviewed to determine what restrictions are appropriate at each location.

The consultation closed on 8 January 2016.

What happens next?

1. We will summarise comments from the exhibition. If appropriate, we will amend the scheme and it will be presented to members for authorisation to formally advertise the proposals.
2. We advertise the proposals on street and in the local press and anyone can submit a formal comment or objection.
3. We record all correspondence and significant objections are reported to the Exeter Highways and Traffic Orders Committee (HATOC) meeting. At this meeting councillors will decide how to progress with the scheme.

Burnthouse Lane, Rifford Road and St Loyes Road area resident parking exhibition

The consultation is in response to requests from local residents who are affected by commuter parking and these proposals aim to prevent displacement to other areas. The proposals have been drafted following discussions with local county councillors and the Chair of the Highway and Traffic Orders Committee.

The scheme intends to ensure that residents have priority over parking in their area, while ensuring that local needs are taken into account, for instance, that local schools, businesses and other employment hubs are not unfairly disadvantaged.
