Since 1st April 2015, the Historic Environment Team has changed the way it provides some services. For example, the Team have refined and put online the specifications for undertaking archaeological work in the county. These documents set out the professional requirements for the main types of archaeological work that is undertaken. Developers and archaeological consultants now have access to these documents to enable them to see the current standards expected for archaeological work in Devon. (Note: while these documents cover most types of archaeological work that is undertaken, it is advisable to contact the Historic Environment Team, to check that the specification is appropriate for the development or heritage asset affected)
In addition, charges for licenced commercial re-use of HER information and development management advice have been introduced.
