Starting Monday 4th August for up to 6 days Devon Highways and Kennford Tarmacadam will be undertaking resurfacing works in Clovelly Road and Meddon Street in Bideford. The programme of works is as follows but is subject to change and weather conditions. The roads will be closed from 730am until 6pm each day.
Monday 4th August and Tuesday 5th August
On Monday and Tuesday works will commence to remove the existing road surface in Meddon Street starting close to Silver Street junction and working up the hill towards Clovelly Road towards the Coronation Road junction. Please be aware these works will be noisy.
Wednesday 6th August
Works to replace existing ironwork in the carriageway will take place throughout both roads.
Thursday 7th August and Friday 8th August.
The road surface will be replaced throughout, starting in Meddon Street and working towards Clovelly Road. We will then replace any lines and any High Friction Surfacing where appropriate.
Monday 11th August
Currently a spare day- but may be used if needed to complete the works.
There will be a fully signed diversion in place throughout the closures times to assist residents and visitors. The A386 and A39 will be unaffected and form part of the official diversion route.
