Retirement creates an Early Years and Childcare Adviser vacancy (EYCA)

At the end of October 2023 the Early Years and Childcare Service said a fond farewell to Pat Harrett as she retired from her role as an EYCA after 15 years with the service.

Pat’s career in the early years sector has spanned more than 45 years. It has included roles in children’s homes, nannying, family centres, development work for the PLA (now Early Years Alliance) as well as the EYCA role.

Pat has always demonstrated a real passion and commitment for early years and childcare and ensuring children have the best start in life, and what she enjoyed most about being an EYCA was visiting and the supporting providers. Pat would always say that a day of visits was the best part of the role.

We want to take this opportunity to wish Pat a long and happy retirement.
