The Foyle Foundation

The Foyle Foundation is an independent grant-making trust that distributes grants to UK charities and schools. It has announced that it will end its grants programmes next year but will continue to accept applications for projects that can be completed by the end of 2025.

There are three grants schemes:

  • Main Grants Scheme – supporting charities whose core work covers arts and learning
  • Small Grants Scheme – Grants of between £2,000 and £10,000 for small charities in all fields for core costs, projects, essential equipment or building projects
  • School Library Scheme – This is the main funding route for schools, with priority given to primary schools and special schools. Most grants are for books and reading materials

Application deadline- Capital requests over £75,000: Enquire by 31 May 2024 and apply by 30 June 2024. All other Main Grants: 31 January 2025. Small Grants: 30 April 2025. Library Scheme: 30 September 2024.


Boots Charitable Trust

Applications can now be submitted from anywhere in the UK for funding from the Boots Charitable Trust.

Charities and voluntary organisations providing the following services can apply for funding:

  • Health: community healthcare, such as homecare or support for sufferers of medical conditions, and health education and prevention
  • Lifelong learning: local literacy and numeracy projects
  • Community development: for example, supporting councils in providing voluntary services
  • Social care: personal, social or community activities or schemes.

The next deadline is 28 February 2024.
