Early years and childcare safeguarding self audit 2023 -2024

The early years and childcare safeguarding self audit has been updated to reflect the changes in safeguarding including Ofsted requirements.

As a provider you must be fully compliant with the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework September 2021 and follow safer recruitment procedures as detailed in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2022.

This safeguarding self audit will:

  • support you to meet the safeguarding requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • help you to assess the quality of your safeguarding practice
  • help to ensure that gaps in safeguarding are identified and prompt action is taken to address these areas
  • assist the Devon Early Years and Childcare Service with developing appropriate training and support for safeguarding and child protection

Please take some time with your staff team (if you employ staff) to complete the audit to assist you with meeting the requirements.

This audit is to be completed by all early years and childcare providers.
