All three-year-olds in Devon are entitled to a free Bookstart treasure pack which will be gifted through Early Years providers.

Funding streams this week include: Garfield Weston Foundation, NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, Awards for All, Reaching Communities and Partnerships – The National Lottery Community Fund, Return to Play Fund – Sport England, Emergency Essentials Programme – BBC Children in Need and the Outdoor learning grant – Learning through Landscapes.

There will be no Digest throughout August. The Digest will return at the beginning of September 2021 to bring you the latest news and updates.

This is a reminder that the Summer Term Amendment Task is currently available with a deadline of 23:59 on 31st August 2021.

The Department for Education (DFE) have consulted on ending the collection of attendance data from Local Authorities after the summer term.  We are still awaiting further communication on this, we will update you as we receive further information from the DFE.

Unfortunately we are unable to run The Goodie Box during the Summer Holiday period. We have put together some information we hope will be useful for families: recipes, activity ideas, and links to other support families may be able to access throughout the summer.

An update to Development Matters, ‘Use of PPE in education, childcare and children’s social care’, ‘Ofsted EIF inspections and the EYFS’, ‘Foundation Years Newsletter’ and ‘Tell Ofsted if you have a COVID-19 incident at your childcare business’.

The Communication Trust has worked with the Better Communication Research Programme to develop the What Works database of evidenced interventions to support children’s speech, language and communication. What Works is endorsed by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
