Traffic and highway data charges

The following charges are effective from 1 April 2020.

Automatic traffic counter (ATC) data

There is a £145 + VAT minimum charge per site. Where any further reports are required, there will be an additional cost of £45 + VAT per report for reports from the same ATC site. The type of data and the period required will influence the type of reports that are supplied and their related costs. Some ATC sites can provide vehicle classification and traffic speed details as well as simple flow data. Examples are shown below.

A yearly growth rate report showing the monthly averages and annual average daily traffic (AADT) for up to three years at one site will cost £145 + VAT. For each additional year required, there will be an additional cost of £45 + VAT.

A multi-day volume report showing hourly flows for up to one month at one site will cost £145 + VAT. For each additional month required, there will be an additional cost of £45 + VAT.

A single classification report showing averages for a period of up to one month will cost £145 + VAT. For each additional month required, there will be an additional cost of £45 + VAT.

A multi-day classification report showing daily directional flows for a period up to one week will cost £145 + VAT. For each additional week required, there will be an additional cost of £45 + VAT.

Manual classified data

There is a £145 + VAT minimum charge per site. This charge is applied to sites with a maximum of 3 arms. If the manual count is a roundabout or junction that has 4+ arms the charge will be £290 + VAT.

Most manual counts are undertaken for 12 hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on a single representative day with data collected in 15-minute intervals.

For more complex sites, where a cluster of data is available, a separate quote for the supply of data can be provided on request.

Speed radar data

Speed radars are capable of recording both vehicle speeds and flows. A report either showing vehicle speeds or vehicle flows over a seven day period will cost £145 + VAT, and if both reports are required the total cost will be £190 + VAT.
