Annual trade permits and short-stay permit books

Annual trade permits and short-stay books are also available to frequent users, but you need to have registered your business address and been approved by us before these permits will be available to you to buy online.

Annual trade permits cost £45, are valid for a year, and allow all-day use of resident-only spaces and limited waiting bays, or combinations of both. They are not valid for use on any yellow lines or in restricted or pedestrianised zones.

Where You Can Park

Where You Cannot Park

  • Yellow lines
  • Restricted areas
  • Pedestrian zones

To use on-street Pay & Display parking spaces, short-stay permit books cost £60 and contain 20 permits are available. A permit lasts 3 hours but you can use additional permits if you need to extend the period of parking time.

Who Can Use Them

Annual trade permits can also be used by:

  • Landlords
  • Estate agents
  • Letting agents

For activities such as:

  • Property viewings
  • Inventories
  • Supervising maintenance

⚠️ These permits must not be used within 1 mile of the address they were issued for and will considered invalid if found used in this way.

Register for an annual or short-stay trade permit

Contractors: If you are a contractor applying for an annual permit or short-stay permits please complete this contractor registration form and read the terms and conditions.

Landlords and letting agents: If you are a landlord or letting agent applying for an annual permit or short-stay permits please complete this landlord and letting agents registration form and read the terms and conditions.

Apply for Annual Trade or Landlord/letting permits

Once your registration has been confirmed you can apply for a permit online. Before you apply, please read our trade permits and parking waivers terms and conditions of use.

All permits are issued at the discretion of the Council. The Council reserves the right to refuse or withdraw by notice, any permit applied for or issued. Misuse of a permit or fraudulently obtained permits will result in their cancellation and put the vehicle at risk of penalty change notices.
