Supporting health and social care providers in Devon

Working with Devon County Council

These pages are intended to provide new and existing providers with information about the contracts that currently exist with Devon County Council and how the Market Management Team can support you.

The Market Management Team supports the Devon provider marketplace and ensures it is sufficient, vibrant and meets the needs of our communities in Devon. We can support new and existing providers to further develop your services.

An assessment of the market place and DCC commissioning intentions for the various segments are described in the Market Position Statement (MPS).

If you would like to discuss your business development proposals, please contact socialcarebusinessrelations-mailbox@devon.gov.uk.

If you decide to come to us for support about a new development we will ask you to fill in an enquiry form to give us a little more info about your organisation and what you have in place already.

One of the Market Management Team members will arrange a discussion with you and this may include meeting with various stakeholders.

We will provide you with useful information about the support available and the requirements for the various contracts and will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Once your proposal is firmed up, we can then explore the appropriate route to contract for this service including linking you with the Procurement Team.

Contract opportunities

We have provided details and descriptions of the services we have in place and the current contract arrangements and opportunities associated with them.

We are currently in the process of reviewing a number of our contract vehicles with a view to tendering in 2021 although this may be delayed due to COVID-19 and other emerging priorities.

All contract opportunities can also be found on the Supplying the South West procurement portal. Follow the simple steps in order to register on the site so you will be notified when tenders are listed for new opportunities.

Please contact the Procurement Team at procurementpeople-mailbox@devon.gov.uk if you would like to know more about any of these contracts or to update your details.

Alternatively, you can email the Market Management Team at socialcarebusinessrelations-mailbox@devon.gov.uk.

Important changes to personal care commissioning

From Monday 30 August 2021 we are moving to a new model of commissioning care at home. To help alleviate pressure on the market, personal care service packages will be commissioned by DCC by requesting offers from the market from within a block of time, thus giving providers more flexibility when responding to referrals and making care offers. There will still be some specific time slot requests when necessary, for example to meet a transport collection time to enable a person to attend day care.

For more information regarding this change and to access the time slot details and guidance, please refer to the Guidance for regulated care providers who provide care and support to people in their own homes’ document on the Provider Engagement Network. Refer to section 2.3 DCC commissioned packages of care – Blocks of time commissioning, on page 10.
