Trauma-Informed & Solution-Focused Practice Programme

Open across Devon to all community based, health and social care providers. Join us for 1 morning a month for 3 months. Book your place below.

A partnership between the ICS and Zebra Collective, with the aim of raising awareness, understanding and use of trauma-informed (TI) & solution-focused (SF) practice across the integrated care system, offering the following fully funded opportunity:

How will the course run? Participants will meet monthly in cohorts of 16, for morning workshops (9.15am-1pm), on Microsoft Teams. When you book a place, you’re booking onto 3 sessions in the same cohort. Each cohort will comprise a mix of workers from across the partnership – so please book individually rather than with your teammates.

Programme content: Session 1: Understanding Trauma & Introduction to TI Practice, Session 2 & 3: TI Practice & SF Practice – further elucidation & skills development

Programme format: Sessions are interactive, e.g.: short presentations / video followed by small & large group discussions and reflections; reflective exercises, case studies etc.; skills practice. The starting point is to notice how TI & SF practice is already evident in your work & service. Then, in a safe and reflective space, we’ll examine the core wisdom in TI & SF practice.

 Digital Leadership Training

Digital Leadership for SMEs (small and medium enterprises) is providing training for senior leaders of small and medium enterprises in Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, and Torbay. 150 training places are available, providing up to 32 hours of free tutor training. 40 training places have been ringfenced for senior leaders from the Health and Adult Social Care sector.

The scheme has been designed to help senior leaders to identify and embrace digital improvements for their organisation, that will enable them to integrate digital technologies to gain a competitive advantage, streamline processes and enhance productivity. The training is available for senior leaders of SME Health and Social care organisations, who are located in and operate their business in either Devon, Plymouth, Somerset or Torbay. Between 9 and 30 hours of tutor led training will be provided, with 1:1 feedback and support hours available. Based upon needs, two training options are available.

Option 1- Driving Digital Transformation, designed  to support SMEs who employ between 10 and 250 employees. This option will provide 5, 6 hour training modules and 2 hours 1:1 feedback and mentoring. Learning Modules: Digital Vision & Strategy, Digital Technology, Digital Operations, Digital Skills & People, Digital Projects

Option 2- Driving Digital Business, is a less intensive programme, designed to support businesses with less than 10 employees, this shorter training programme offers 3, 3 hour training sessions and 3 hrs of 1:1 feedback and mentoring. RESTORE2

RESTORE 2 stands for: Recognise Early Soft-signs, Take Observations, Respond, Escalate. The tool has been designed by West Hampshire CCG and Wessex AHSN to help care and nursing professionals to:

  • Recognise when a resident may be deteriorating or at risk of physical deterioration
  • Act appropriately according to the resident’s care plan to protect and manage the resident
  • Obtain a complete set of physical observations to inform escalation and conversations with health professionals
  • Speak with the most appropriate health professional in a timely way to get the right support
  • Provide a concise escalation history to health professionals to support their professional decision making

East Devon, Mid Devon and Exeter

  • The Eastern Care Services Team are offering free RESTORE2 training to Care Providers in Exeter, Mid and East Devon. The training will be offered either virtually, via MS Teams, or face to face whilst adhering to strict COVID19 infection control precautions. Contact rduh.careservices@nhs.net for more information. North Devon

  • The Northern Care Home Team are offering fully funded training can be provided either Face to Face or virtually via MS Teams for all Care Services in North Devon. Complete the Pre Training Assessment form, once you have completed this a member of the team will contact you to book a training date.

Restore2mini

Blue Stream Academy launching online RESTORE2mini free training for every care professional. RESTORE2mini online training enables care home and domiciliary care professionals to gain new deterioration management skills and improved knowledge and understanding of the people for whom they care.

South West Academic Health Science Network is pleased to present this important, free of charge, RESTORE2mini training resource for all carers to help provide better care across health and care environments. It’s available to access at any time – 24/7.

The oral health improvement team are offering Free training!

  • We provide training to care workers responsible for the oral health of both children and adults
  • Training takes 1-2½ hours (bespoke to suit your needs)
  • Tooth brushing demos provided
  • CPD certificates are issued upon completion

Safeguarding

Safeguarding adults training is available for anyone who works with or cares for adults at risk of significant harm. Safeguarding training and Mental Capacity training is currently funded at Level 2 and Level 3 for Private, Voluntary, and Independent, Health and Social Care Providers.
