MPS: Supporting Independence
Introduction
New business for unregulated care and support, where there is no element of personal care, is commissioned through the ‘Supporting Independence’ contract. The contract consists of two open framework agreements and applies to all service user groups:
- Lot 1: Group-based care and support
- Lot 2: Individualised care and support.
The contract is delivered in eight geographical zones. Providers select the zones in which they wish to operate and can set different prices for different zones in recognition that services may cost more to deliver in different areas.
Zone | Area |
---|---|
Zone 1 | Bideford/Northam, Great Torrington, Holsworthy |
Zone 2 | Ilfracombe, Lynton/Lynmouth, Barnstaple, South Molton |
Zone 3 | Tiverton, Crediton, Cullompton |
Zone 4 | Exeter |
Zone 5 | Honiton, Sidmouth, Exmouth, Seaton |
Zone 6 | Newton Abbot, Totnes, Dartmouth |
Zone 7 | Ivybridge, Tavistock |
Zone 8 | Okehampton, Moretonhampstead |
There are annual entry points for new providers (or current providers to extend their area of operation) to join the framework in spring each year, with contracts commencing in the following October.
For historic business, a range of other contracts apply.
