Cylo

With the support of the Green Innovation Fund, the team at Remit Zero Ltd have installed the first Cylo Mark 1 Test Vessel on the grounds of the Exeter Science Park. This smart electrical appliance, wholly designed and built in the UK, provides a zero emission alternative to gas boilers. It is ideal for homes that are difficult to retrofit and is easy to install in place of current systems. The Cylo is an intelligent system with the ability to store energy, meaning it can draw energy from the grid when it is cheapest and greenest, ready for use throughout the day. This lowers the cost for the consumer, and helps balance demand in the grid.

With the grant, Remit Zero are utilising the information gathered from the demonstrator vessel to further develop the Cylo. The next iteration will be suitable for deployment in pilot housing sites, allowing real world trials of the appliance. The funding received has enabled the company to scale up rapidly; creating new highly skilled engineering jobs in Devon and accelerating the timeline of the technological development.
