‘Our Opportunities’ were projects driving a green and inclusive recovery and setting a renewed future economic direction for people, communities, business, and the whole economy.

Impact

The impact of the ‘Our Opportunities’ projects included:

  • Supporting the inception of 38 new business ventures by young people
  • Improvements in water courses, biodiversity net gain, and reduced pesticide usage
  • Carbon avoiding 10724 tonnes of CO2
  • Creating 20 new ventures for young people
  • 127 green training places
  • Engaging 100 young people in start up opportunities
  • 4208 young people participating in innovation workshop
  • Saving 3.6 tonnes of waste from landfill, and recycled 5 EV batteries

Green Innovation Fund

The Green Innovation Fund was a competitive grant scheme run by Devon County Council and invested £950,000 into innovative projects and technologies, driving green growth in Devon’s economy and supporting local enterprises.

The grants helped support Devon’s transition to a Net Zero economy by creating economic growth alongside environmental benefits.
