Connect to Work is a new, voluntary supported employment programme designed to help disabled people, those with health conditions, and individuals facing barriers to employment find and stay in meaningful work.
What is Connect to Work?
Connect to Work is free to join and offers personalised support to help you overcome challenges and achieve your career goals.
Who is it for?
The programme is for people who are disabled, have a physical or mental health condition, or are experiencing other barriers to employment, such as caring responsibilities.
What support is available?
Participants in Connect to Work will be matched with a dedicated specialist employment practitioner who will:
work closely with them to understand their career goals including job matching
help identify and overcome any barriers to employment and supporting direct conversation with employers
ensure a smooth transition into work and promote inclusive workplace practices
Where is it available?
In the Devon, Plymouth and Torbay area, the programme is being delivered by:
Devon County Council (Lead Authority)
in partnership with Plymouth City Council and Torbay Council
When does it start?
The Connect to Work service in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay is now live and opened for participants from Plymouth in November 2025, followed by Devon and Torbay in January 2026. For more information about the programme in your local area please see below.
