We are Devon County Council’s own in-house temporary staffing bank and have access to opportunities across the breadth of the organisation. We supply temporary and casual staff to each service area within the authority, as well as supplying external organisations that are either within the public sector, not for profit, or charity.

Registering with Temp Solutions gives you access to all our temporary work opportunities that can help develop your skills, knowledge, and experience in a variety of industries.

Although the duration of each vacancy varies depending on service need, typically our placements last for 3 – 12 months. Our aim is to keep our outstanding temps working with us so if we know the placement will be ending, we aim to make contact about other opportunities within the council or with our external customers.

If you are a flexible, motivated, and enthusiastic individual looking to upskill or try something new whilst making a difference to lives of people in Devon and can commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week, then we want to hear from you!

Business Support

Business Support posts are essential to the successful delivery of services to the people of Devon. They provide support across the full range of office and Service activities/business processes, including the smooth running of the office environment, front of house/reception functions, administrative and secretarial/PA support to operational staff and the provision of relevant support, information, and advice to Service and Senior Managers. Professional and Support

As a local authority, we also have roles you might not find elsewhere. For example, democratic support officers to assist with the business of elected representatives and scrutiny committees, registrars to keep official records of the county’s population and a coroner to deal with inquests into individual deaths.

We rely on professional and support roles to make sure our services are delivered to the people who need them. Find out more.

Human Resources

Human Resources (HR) is all about making sure the organisation’s objectives are met through its people. At Devon County Council you will have the opportunity to work with people across a range of occupational areas, from social work to engineering, teaching to trading standards. Our HR roles cover areas including pay and reward, learning and development, employee relations, employment law, recruitment and planning for our workforce needs. Find out more.

Working for such a large organisation means there a plenty of different finance areas that you can work in. These teams are invaluable to ensuring Devon’s finance systems are managed, analysed and that any investments are monitored. Find out more.
