With the longest road network in the country and over 350,000 tonnes of waste generated each year, our Highways, Engineering Design and Waste Management teams are vital to keeping Devon’s residents mobile and their waste managed sustainably.

Our Engineering Teams design, commission and monitor large and small projects across the County including major roads, bridges, recycling centres and cycle routes which are crucial to the future environmental and economic wellbeing of Devon.  

In addition, we are responsible for ensuring the existing infrastructure is maintained, including highways and public rights of way

Our waste management team ensure that current waste is managed and where possible recycled whilst seeking to reduce future waste generation through education and communication initiatives

We have a highly regarded approved graduate engineering scheme as well as well as attractive career pathways at all levels.   

Our award winning apprenticeships give opportunities for career development to school/college leavers and those seeking career change.   

We have 3,500 bridges

We maintain over 8,000 miles of road

We fill over 200,00 potholes a year
