Human Resources (HR) is all about making sure the organisation’s objectives are met through its people.
Working in HR at Devon County Council gives you the opportunity to work with people across a range of occupational areas, from social work to engineering, teaching to trading standards.
Our HR roles cover areas including pay and reward, learning and development, employee relations, employment law, recruitment and planning for our workforce needs.
HR within the Council also includes health and safety, payroll and working with our various ICT systems to understand our workforce needs and report on the impact of our actions.
We have opportunities at various levels, such as administration, providing advice and guidance, undertaking research and analysis and helping members and managers to shape the direction of the organisation and understand its workforce priorities.
We practice what we preach and are keen to develop our HR staff, including using the CIPD accredited HR apprenticeship qualifications and CMI (Chartered Management Institute)/ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) accredited leadership and management qualifications.
