Do it for supporting care-experienced young people in Devon
A Personal Advisor (PAs) is crucial in supporting our ambitions for care-experienced young people (aged 16-25) to live independently and thrive. PAs assist young people with a range of practical, personal, social, emotional, and financial needs. These include ensuring they are in suitable accommodation and are supported to engage in education, employment and training. Thus helping to support them to become confident and engaged members of their community.
The role centres on forming trusted relationships with young people, listening to their views and concerns, ensuring any risks or vulnerabilities are supported, and building on their strengths. In addition, PAs work closely with partners to ensure young people’s needs are met.
Devon is an excellent place for anyone looking to work closely with young people and is passionate about enabling them to fulfil their potential after leaving care. We offer a supportive workplace where you will have access to high-quality professional supervision, learning and development opportunities and a chance to build close working relationships with social workers, team managers and a range of professionals from all our partner agencies.
PAs can access a substantial training package and will work with a broad and diverse range of care leavers or care experienced young people. It is fundamental to the role to understand and engage with each individual’s needs, interests, and circumstances. Our training package helps PAs build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to do this to the best of their abilities.
