Canal Basin car park
The Canal Basin is the main entrance and car park for the Country Park. Located on the south-eastern side of Tiverton it is well sign-posted by brown tourist attraction signs from all major roads into Tiverton.
Prices
The Canal Basin car park is a pay and display car park. Charges are payable seven days a week, sunrise to sunset. No disabled concessions. Charges also apply to motorbikes. All revenue from car parking goes directly to projects in the Park.

Spaces
There are 55 car spaces available, two coach bays and five disabled bays located at either end of the car park – two opposite the public toilets and three near the canal tea rooms and garden. There are no disabled concessions.
Parking is suitable for motorhomes and motorbikes. There is no height restriction. In the summer, overflow parking is available on the grassed area beside the lime kilns.
Please be aware there is no CCTV in this car park.
Penalties
Any vehicle not displaying a valid ticket or overstaying the expiry time may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice of £50.
No sleeping or overnight camping is permitted.

Annual car parking permit
If you’re a regular visitor to the Grand Western Canal Basin car park in Tiverton, it may be worthwhile investing in an annual car parking permit.
The current cost for a permit is £24 per year.
You can purchase your annual car parking permit online at Devon County Council’s Parking Services Portal. Once on the website, please complete the form online. This system provides the option to pay by cash or cheque, either in person or by post, if you cannot pay by credit or debit card.
