Volunteers Day

Why not join our growing army of conservation volunteers on the second Sunday of every month between October and March. Tasks are varied and all tools are provided. No special skills are needed – just bring along lunch and old clothes.

Wild Wednesdays – Bird box building

10am – 12noon & 1:30pm – 3:30pm

Come along and join in with our Wild Wednesday activity sessions and try your hand at building a box to take home for our feathery friends.

Canal Walk and Talk
Wednesday 18th March 2026
10:30am – 12noon

Canal Rangers will be leading a midweek walk to help you discover all the sights and sounds of the Country Park. Part of Tiverton’s Twalkers  ‘Walk for Health’ scheme.

Cost: Free

Location: This walk starts at The Globe Inn Car Park, Sampford Peverell (What 3 Words: ///mammal.viewer.radiates)

Note: Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and arrive by 10:20am.


Wild Wednesdays – Easter Holidays

Come along and join in with our Wild Wednesday activity sessions and learn all about the different types of wildlife that live in our waterways.

Bat Walk

Enjoy a twilight walk and discover what our night time residents are up to. This 1½ mile walk along the towpath will take approx. 2hrs. Please bring a torch and warm clothing. All children should be accompanied by an adult. Sorry no dogs or children under 5 years old.

Join Rangers at the Grand Western Canal to make a Christmas wreaths using natural materials from the Country Park.

Location: Rangers Office, The Moorings, Canal Hill, Tiverton EX16 4HX.

Arrive at the canal basin car park. Walk up the slope by the toilet block and turn right towards the road. Follow the path around the end of the canal past the play area, through the wooden gate and towards the cream building on the other side of the canal – the Ranger’s Office.
Please note:
All children should be accompanied by an adult.
Sorry no dogs.
