EVENTS 2025
Wild Wednesday – Spooktacular
Wednesday 29th October 2025
10am – 12noon & 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Have a spooktacular experience this half term holiday, head to the Grand Western Canal to make some Halloween / Autumn themed arts and crafts – create some spider web bunting, pinecone bats, leaf foxes, zombie fish, wooden pumpkins, clay ghouls, conker eyeballs, or make a magic wand or broomstick; or join in on our spooky pumpkin trail.

Volunteers Day

10am – 3pm
Why not join our growing army of conservation volunteers on the second Sunday of every month between October and March. Tasks are varied and all tools are provided. No special skills are needed – just bring along lunch and old clothes.

Canal Walk and Talk
Wednesday 10th December 2025
10:30am – 12noon
Canal Rangers will be leading a midweek walk to help you discover all the sights and sounds of the Country Park. Part of Tiverton’s Twalkers ‘Walk for Health’ scheme.
Cost: Free
Location: This walk starts at Tiverton Road Bridge Car Park (What 3 Words: ///epic.pothole.driveways) Please arrive by 10:20am.
Children’s Christmas Decoration Workshop
Sunday 7th December 2025
10am – 12noon & 1pm – 3pm
Join Rangers at the Grand Western Canal to make a selection of Christmas decorations using natural materials from the Country Park🎄. Don’t miss out on this festive opportunity to get crafty and spread some Christmas cheer!
Times: There is a morning session from 10am – 12noon and an afternoon session 1pm – 3pm.
Cost: £7.50 (+ Eventbrite fee + £1.33) = £8.83 per child

Arrive at the canal basin car park. Walk up the slope by the toilet block and turn right towards the road. Follow the path around the end of the canal past the play area, through the wooden gate and towards the cream building on the other side of the canal – the Ranger’s Office.
All children should be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas Wreath Workshop
Friday 12th, Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th December 2025
10am – 12noon & 1pm – 3pm

Bat Walk
9pm
Enjoy a twilight walk and discover what our night time residents are up to. Starting in Tiverton, this 1½ mile walk along the towpath will take approx. 2hrs. Please bring a torch and warm clothing. All children should be accompanied by an adult. Sorry no dogs or children under 5 years old.
