At the Grand Western Canal Country Park there is always something for everyone to do, whether you want to enjoy a peaceful walk or cycle ride, take a trip on a traditional horse-drawn barge or find a quiet spot to do some fishing.

  • If you want to launch your own canoe, kayak or paddleboard here is all the information you need to get on the water.

  • Motorised boating is great way to explore the Canal.

    For smaller trailable boats we have a slipway in Sampford Peverell.

  • If you don't own your own boat then contact the Tiverton Canal Co. who have Rowing boats and Canadian canoes to hire.

  • With 11 and a quarter miles of towpath to discover the Country Park is a popular place to enjoy a flat, easy walk in the countryside.

  • The Country Park is an ideal location to exercise your four legged friend.

  • Cycling is a popular way for families and individuals to explore the Country Park

  • Abbotshood have lots of bikes available to use within the Country Park and the surrounding area.

    Adult & children's bikes, Tandems, Electric Bikes, Child seats, Tag-a-longs, Trailers are all available.

  • The Grand Western Canal provides a quiet and relaxing venue with a good range of coarse angling opportunities.
