1. SWAST Devon Overview – Mike Curtis
Mike Curtis provided an update on SWAST, detailing the coverage throughout the South West, their sites and also the challenges being faced.
SWAST are very keen to engage with partners going forward.
Aiming to publish 5 year estates strategy shortly.
Discussion around key geographic areas in terms of consolidating stations.
ACTION: Mike Curtis and Ian Collinson to have a discussion regarding Exeter.
SWAST already has some examples of co-location / tri-services on various sites so would be keen to explore further opportunities. ACTION: SWAST and Paul Britton to have a discussion around potential opportunities and possible OPE funding.
2. Lincoln Emergency Services Hub Model – Dave Pennington & Jennie Clarke (Lincolnshire Council)
The Hub is a joint project bringing together the Police, Fire and Ambulance Services. Challenges of the project included lack of national models to learn from, the intricacies of the site and different operational cultures.
Dave Pennington and Jennie Clarke provided updates on project considerations, construction considerations and the learning and evaluation.
Relationships are key in being able to make it achievable.
DCC invited Dave Pennington & Jennie Clarke to attend and participate in a focused workshop with services (SWAST, DCC, Fire, Police etc) to look at this in more detail.
There were financial benefits of this project but also it resulted in better collaborative / partnership working leading to improved service delivery.
DCC keen to understand the role of the County Council in this project.
ACTION: Keir Duffin to arrange a follow up meeting.
