Green Construction Advisory Panel – February Meeting


The Green Construction Advisory Panel (GCAP) is a member-led committee of local building services, housing and construction businesses supported by local authorities, charities, and training providers across the Southwest.They aim to improve and develop sustainable training and development and education opportunities for the housing and construction industry. With a range of stakeholders this group has fantastic potential to reduce skills gaps across the Southwest and provide entry routes into green careers and training.

The most recent meeting, held 1 February at Exeter Future Skills Centre, had an exciting agenda about:

  • GCAP’s current achievements to date – Presented by Exeter College
  • Water conservation – Presented by Bruce Priday, Director of SMARTi Environmental
  • Future training around retrofit – Presented by Simon Ayres, CEO of Trustmark
  • The development and future of green skills – Presented by Graham Hasting-Evans, CEO of NOCN
  • An update on the work of the Solar Task force – Presented by Mark Wakeford, Chairman of Evo Energy
  • Case Studies on external wall insulation – Nick Miles, Director of commerce and product innovation of EWIPro Render Solutions
