Working in Digital Transformation

Within the Transformation Team, we’ve got a great group of digital experts. We’ve specialists in user research, service and interaction design, software development, delivery, and testing. Everyone shares a passion for working with agile methods and user-centred design. Our iterative approach means we’re always exploring new ways of working and helping others to learn from our experiences.

Our Digital Transformation Team has grown rapidly with experts from both the public and private sectors. We have graduates, who we have helped to become skilled junior software developers in under three months. We also provide an environment where more experienced digital professionals can enhance their skills while getting opportunities to develop leadership capabilities. There are always opportunities to progress within Devon County Council in ways that suit your career.

Our values and way of working

For example, our inventive team have supported over 30,000 bus pass applications last year, helping older residents to stay independent and visit family. We did this by investing time to understand the needs of our users. We then designed a digital service that we tested and iterated to ensure it was easy for everyone to use. We also worked with Devon County Council’s employees to deliver the tools they needed to manage the application process.

The team’s members pride themselves on being very supportive of each other. The support is valued by everyone because the working environment is both fast-paced and open to change. We work alongside a great variety of business areas seeking transformation and redesign, which means people have regular opportunities to be creative.

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
