Summer Holidays – Wild Wednesdays
Times: 10am – 12noon & 1:30pm – 3:30pm
Join the Rangers for our Wild Wednesday sessions! Choose from a morning or afternoon session and enjoy a range of nature-themed activities.
Wed 29th July – Pirates Day – Love Parks Week
Ahoy there! Set sail for a swashbuckling day of fun, crafts, and treasure as we celebrate Love Parks Week!
It’s a fun-filled adventure where you can dress up as your favourite pirate, hunt for treasures, and enjoy some awesome pirate them arts & crafts – making bows and arrows or wooden swords. Don’t miss out on the pirate-themed fun — see you there!
Wed 12th August – Pond Dipping
Discover what aquatic creatures are living beneath the surface of the water in this fun, hands-on session!
Wed 19th August – Minibeasts
Explore the amazing world of insects living along the canal! Learn all about minibeasts, then build your own bug home to take back to your garden.
Wed 26th August – Birds
Discover the wonderful birds that live along the canal, and build your own bird box to take home and help birds in your garden.
Cost: £3.50 (plus Eventbrite fee) = £4.50

Arrive at the canal basin car park. Walk up the slope by the toilet block and turn right towards the road. Follow the path around the end of the canal past the play area, through the wooden gate and towards the cream building on the other side of the canal – the Ranger’s Office.

Volunteers Day

10am – 3pm
Why not join our growing army of conservation volunteers on the second Sunday of every month between October and March. Tasks are varied and all tools are provided. No special skills are needed – just bring along lunch and old clothes.

Christmas Wreath Workshop

10am – 12noon & 1pm – 3pm
Join Rangers at the Grand Western Canal to make a Christmas wreaths using natural materials from the Country Park.
