Working in Partnership and Architecture

Within the Partnership and Architecture team, we provide strategic digital and technology advice to all business areas across the Council. We collaborate with the business, helping them to understand how to transform the way they work and better meet the needs of the people of Devon. We also use our skills and expertise to create and ensure the delivery of the Council’s Digital and Technology Strategy. We love learning about new technologies and thinking about how we can use them to be an innovative Council. We thrive on the variety that comes with supporting a large organisation.

The team has many different roles, including Programme and Project Management experts. Our Technical Architects are specialists in their respective fields, setting technical standards for the Council and providing technical leadership. Our team also includes Digital and Technology Service Business Partners and Officers, who explore the needs of the organisation and the people that use its services. They inspire with the “art of the possible” and work with the business to ensure their needs can be met. Our degree apprentice supports the whole team while learning about a range of different technologies, gaining an excellent foundation for a career in digital and technology.

Our values and ways of working

Our work includes initiatives like trailing a new managed desktop service. The trial allowed us to evaluate success and we’re now rolling out new devices and software to 5,000 employees. Our goal for this project is to ensure the working experience is the best it can be, supporting flexible and remote working, whilst being modern, safe, and secure.

We are a friendly and supportive team that loves to bring together our different skills and experiences to help the organisation work differently. We like to try new things and learn what works and inspire others to try new approaches and technologies. We help problem-solve for the here and now while designing a long-term vision to ensure that we invest in the right digital solutions for the Council.

If you would like an informal discussion about our work, please contact Marisa Smyth, ICT Partnership and Architecture Manager on 01392 383000.

Help us to make it easier for everyone to get things done and Make Devon Digital.
